JOBST® UlcerCare

JOBST® UlcerCare is a 2-in-1 compression system designed to effectively manage venous leg ulcers. The two-part system provides graduated compression with a nominal compression of 40 mmHg at the ankle to help manage pain and discomfort.

JOBST® UlcerCare is a 2-in-1 compression system designed to effectively manage venous leg ulcers. It features a liner to hold the wound dressing in place and an outer stocking with a zipper to deliver a graduated compression with a nominal compression of 40 mmHg* at the ankle.

The compression system helps to manage pain and discomfort caused by venous leg ulcers, while supporting an active lifestyle. The JOBST® UlcerCare garments are less bulky than bandages, so they can be worn conveniently with common footwear.

The two components of the JOBST® UlcerCare 2-in-1 system include:

  • JOBST® UlcerCare Liners – made from soft textiles that makes it easy to don the outer stocking. They help to hold wound dressings in place and can be worn for up to 24 hours a day. The breathable material and integrated heel and toe provide comfort.
  • JOBST® UlcerCare Outer Stocking – This stocking is worn over the JOBST® UlcerCare Liner and is available in beige and has a zipper. It is specially designed to facilitate the change of wound dressings and support self-management.

These compression garments are available in ready-to-wear.

  • Ready-to-wear: These medical compression garments offer convenient choices for users without requiring customisation or special measurements.

What are the different compression classes?

Compression garments come in different compression classes, ranges, or levels. This description differs between regions or countries. In Germany, for example, the so-called RAL-GZG standard is dividing compression garments into four different compression classes from mild to very strong compression or class I-IV. The exact pressure of each compression garment is usually specified in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and varies according to medical necessity.

It is not always useful to assign a specific compression class to a certain condition, therefore Healthcare Professionals will make individual decisions on the suitability of a certain compression level for each patient. This is usually based on the clinical condition itself, the patient’s tolerability for compression, additional conditions, and further individual needs.
